The vaccine contains capsular polysaccharides from meningococcal serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135, conjugated to a diphtheria toxoid protein carrier. This combination stimulates the immune system to produce protective antibodies, providing active immunity.
✔️ Dosage and Administration
Adults
- A single dose of 0.5 mL, was administered subcutaneously.
- Protective antibody levels are typically achieved within 7 to 10 days after vaccination.
Primary Immunization
- Infants (6 weeks to <6 months): Two doses of 0.5 mL each, with an interval of 2 months between doses.
- Infants (6 months and older), children, adolescents, and adults: A single dose of 0.5 mL. An additional primary dose may be necessary for certain individuals.
Booster Doses
- Infants (6 weeks to <12 months): A booster dose at 12 months of age, with an interval of at least 2 months after the last dose.
- Individuals aged 12 months or older: A booster dose may be administered following prior vaccination with a conjugated or plain polysaccharide meningococcal vaccine.
Method of Administration
- Intramuscular injection (IM) only.
- Infants: Anterolateral thigh.
- Individuals aged 1 year and older: Anterolateral thigh or deltoid muscle.
